Valery has an embarrassing problem. She doesn’t like to talk about it much, but, well, she sheds! I know all dogs shed and that hair on the floor and on your furniture is just one of those things we have to deal with when we have pets, but Valery’s shedding was unbelievable. Valery has a very soft, fluffy coat. Unusual for a JRT or JRT mix. Her beautiful coat is part of what makes her so cuddly and snuggly, but it is also what makes you not want to hold her. Everyone who petted or held Valery would walk away looking like Valery. Her white, fluffy fur was a nightmare for my mom, who wears a lot of black clothing. Well, at least this was all true until…

SHED STOP!
I have to say, if this product worked for Valery when no other omega fatty acids have, I’m a believer! Formerly “Mrs. Allen’s Shed Stop” we had tried to product sometime last year, but none of the dogs liked the flavor and would eat their food reluctantly when the product was poured on their kibbles. The product has a new name and it states on the bottle “New and Improved” and I have to say, we can tell that it’s true.

DOSING INSTRUCTIONS:
give the following amount of Shed-Stop once per day:

Up to 25 lbs - 1 tablespoon
26-60 lbs - 2 tablespoons
Over 60 lbs - 3 tablespoons

Caloric Value:
76 Kcal per tablespoon

I will emphasize that Shed Stop needs to be given daily regardless of season and it may take over 4 weeks to see results. I would say that for Valery, it was around the 4 week mark that we saw a decrease in shedding. We also give less than the tablespoon recommended for her size since she is on a reduced calorie diet. She gets about a teaspoon per day.

Omega fatty acids are an important part of any dog’s diet regardless of shedding problems. Omegas are excellent for skin condition, beautiful coat quality and most Veterinarians recommend Omega fatty acids for dogs with allergies.

WHAT THE PUP PANEL THINKS:

Janko: “tastes good!” IT’S WHEAT FREE!!!!!

Valery: “I’m so glad people don’t mind petting me now, it was really inhibiting my social activities. I love how it tastes!”

Penny: “Mom loves when my black coat shines and I think it tastes pretty good now. I wasn’t sure at first because it was something new, but now I think I like it.”

Buckley: “Can I have more?”

Shed Stop is available at most pet supply retailers and online. Look for it in the vitamin/supplement section. It’s a liquid and comes in a 24 fl oz bottle. I pay about $23 for the bottle where I purchase it, but I believe you can buy it by the gallon at drsfostersmith.com.
